The Brookfield United Cricket Club and the Australian Defence Force join together every ANZAC Day to compete in the Annual Shell Green T20 match, which pays tribute to ANZAC Day and the service and sacrifice of Australian military personnel. This year saw another strong performance from our second grade side in the Community Cricket Championship. After sneaking into 4th position to qualify for the finals, the boys had a dominant outright victory over the team that finished first in the regular season. We are grateful for the rain but the wet weather has definitely not helped the A1 boys. With another wash out on the weekend, finals chances have all but disappeared. February 2, 2020Major rule changes for 2019/20 season
One important rule change is the introduction of mandatory use of helmets for batsmen, fielders in front of square within 7m from the bat and wicket keepers keeping up to the stumps.The rule was brought in by Sub Districts in response to guidelines issued by Cricket Australia following the death of Phil Hughes after receiving an unfortunate fatal blow by a cricket ball playing in a State match.More information about the wearing of helmets can be found here....
