Helmets are now mandatory
One important rule change is the introduction of mandatory use of helmets for batsmen, fielders in front of square within 7m from the bat and wicket keepers keeping up to the stumps.
The rule was brought in by Sub Districts in response to guidelines issued by Cricket Australia following the death of Phil Hughes after receiving an unfortunate fatal blow by a cricket ball playing in a State match.

Replacement Players
In the 2019/20 season, if a player is injured before, during or in between day 1 and day 2, they can be replaced with the approval of the QSDCA committee. If a player is replaced, they are then excluded from being available for selection for 20 days following being replaced.
